I built Monarch Digital from the ground up with one goal in mind, simplicity. The theme is clean, roomy, and sits well in any resolution. Almost everything can be customized from the UI saving a lot of time when adding header images, custom theming, and much more. The site takes advantage of the most advanced CSS features such as transforms, transitions, and even a few 3D components. I also make extensive use of SASS/Compass to get the best of CSS.
